Ginger Essential Oil is believed to originate from India and was one of the first spices to arrive in Europe from Asia. Its beneficial properties have been appreciated throughout the centuries, being already mentioned by the Chinese philosopher Confucius, by Dioscorides and in the Koran. The Greeks and Romans also used it in its dual function as medicine and spice. The ancient Egyptians cultivated it and used it in food with the aim of preventing and curbing epidemics. Dioscorides recommended it to activate circulation.
It is known for its great anti-inflammatory power and it is recommended to incorporate it in the diet on a daily basis to combat inflammatory states and specifically in case of arthritis.
It has a great calorific and alkalizing power. Due to its botanical sensitivity, an Asian cultivation origin is required since American ginger is highly acidifying, making its use dangerous.
